गाँव का हर बच्चा यह कहानी सुनकर बड़ा होता था, लेकिन उनमें से कोई भी इसे सच मानने की हिम्मत नहीं करता था। सिवाय एक के—आकाश।
रहस्य की पुकार
आकाश एक 22 वर्षीय युवक था जो विज्ञान का छात्र था, परंतु उसका झुकाव रहस्यमयी और अलौकिक विषयों की ओर ज़्यादा था। उसे गाँव की इन कहानियों में सच्चाई की झलक नज़र आती थी।
एक दिन, गाँव के सबसे बुज़ुर्ग और ज्ञानी पंडित शंकर दत्त ने आकाश को बुलाया। उनके हाथ में एक पुराना तांबे का पत्र था, जिस पर नागमुद्राएँ उकेरी गई थीं।

गुफा में घुसते ही उसे साँपों की फुफकारें सुनाई देने लगीं। दीवारों पर अजीब-सी आकृतियाँ बनी थीं—मानव और सर्प का मिश्रण। और फिर, उसे दिखाई दिया वह… एक विशाल काया, जिसकी आँखें हरे जहर की तरह चमक रही थीं—नागज़िला।
परिवर्तन की शुरुआत
नागज़िला ने आकाश को देखा और बिना कोई चेतावनी दिए, उसे डस लिया। लेकिन आकाश मरा नहीं। कुछ असाधारण घटित हुआ। उसके शरीर में उबाल आने लगा, आँखें साँप जैसी हो गईं, त्वचा पर चमत्कारी चमक आ गई।
कुछ ही घंटों में आकाश एक सामान्य इंसान नहीं रहा। वह अब एक अर्ध-नाग बन चुका था। उसके भीतर नाग लोक की शक्तियाँ जागृत हो गई थीं—सोच पढ़ने की शक्ति, आकार बदलने की कला, और भयंकर विष को नियंत्रित करने की क्षमता।
गाँव में अजीब घटनाएँ
आकाश के गुफा से लौटने के बाद, गाँव में अजीब घटनाएँ घटने लगीं। पशु एक-एक कर गायब होने लगे, बच्चों के सपनों में नाग दिखने लगे, और मंदिर की घंटियाँ बिना किसी के छुए बजने लगीं।
लोगों में डर फैल गया। पंडित शंकर ने गाँव वालों को बताया कि नाग लोक की पहली मुहर टूट चुकी है और रक्षक जाग चुका है। लेकिन वह रक्षक अब पूरी तरह इंसान नहीं रहा…
नाग लोक की कथा
हज़ारों साल पहले, जब पृथ्वी पर नागों का राज हुआ करता था, तब सात द्वार बनाए गए थे जो नाग लोक को इस दुनिया से जोड़ते थे। हर हज़ार साल में एक द्वार खुलता है और एक ‘रक्षक’ जन्म लेता है जो नागों और मानवों के बीच संतुलन बनाए रखता है।
परंतु इस बार, मुहरें जबरन तोड़ी गई थीं, और नागों की शक्तियाँ बेकाबू हो चुकी थीं।
आकाश को अब न सिर्फ अपने अस्तित्व को समझना था, बल्कि उसे अपनी मानवता और नागत्व के बीच संतुलन भी बनाना था।
सत्य का सामना
आकाश ने खुद को जंगल में छिपा लिया। वहीं उसे मिले कुछ और ग्रंथ और नागों के छिपे हुए अभिलेख जिनमें बताया गया था कि अंतिम युद्ध कब और कहाँ होगा। एक पौराणिक भविष्यवाणी थी—”जब पहला कांड होगा, तब धरती पर एक ऐसा प्राणी जन्म लेगा जो सृष्टि का संतुलन तय करेगा।”
अब आकाश को निर्णय लेना था—क्या वह नागों का दूत बनेगा या मानवता का रक्षक?
अंतिम युद्ध की शुरुआत
नागपंचमी की रात, गाँव में अचानक सैकड़ों सांपों का हमला हो गया। हर ओर चीख-पुकार मच गई। उसी क्षण, आकाश नागज़िला के रूप में प्रकट हुआ। उसका शरीर अब पूरी तरह नाग मानव का रूप ले चुका था। उसकी एक फुफकार से ज़मीन काँप उठी।
उसने नागों की सेना से अकेले युद्ध किया, लेकिन यह लड़ाई केवल बाहरी नहीं थी। आकाश के भीतर भी एक युद्ध चल रहा था—इंसान और नाग के बीच।
नया अध्याय
किसी तरह, आकाश ने नागों को पराजित किया और गुफा की मुहर को फिर से बंद कर दिया। लेकिन इस युद्ध में उसकी मानवता पूरी तरह नष्ट हो चुकी थी। गाँववालों ने उसे शैतान समझा और उसके खिलाफ हो गए।
आकाश अब केवल एक नाम नहीं था। वह एक किवदंती बन चुका था—नागज़िला।

His vision was sharper, his senses heightened. His skin bore patches of iridescent scales. His eyes—no longer human—glowed with a serpent’s sheen.
He had become something else.
Awakening of the Powers
As days passed, Aakash discovered his newfound abilities. He could hear whispers of minds, sense fear, and even command smaller reptiles. With practice, he learned to alter his shape—his limbs elongating, his voice deepening into a hissing growl.
But with power came burden.
Whispers of evil sightings spread through the village. Livestock vanished. Temple bells rang on their own. People dreamt of serpents and shadows.
Pandit Shankar confirmed everyone’s fears:
“The First Curse has begun.”
The Serpent Prophecy
Thousands of years ago, when the Naags ruled the earth, they created seven seals to separate their realm from the human world. Each seal was a gateway, and every thousand years, one would unlock, releasing the power of Naag Lok into the mortal plane.
With each seal, a chosen guardian was destined to rise—to either protect humanity or lead them into submission.
Aakash had unknowingly become the guardian of the First Seal.
But the seal had broken unnaturally. Something—or someone—was behind it.
Lost Between Two Worlds
Conflicted, Aakash left the village and hid in the nearby forest. There, he discovered ancient manuscripts, hidden stone relics, and a chamber beneath a banyan tree inscribed with warnings:
“He who inherits the serpent’s soul must not lose his heart, lest he awaken the wrath of the thousand fangs.”
Aakash was torn between two identities: the human with emotions and memories, and the serpent with fury and vengeance.
The Night of the Blood Moon
During Nag Panchami, the village came under attack. Hundreds of serpents slithered from the forest, hissing in unison. Panic gripped the villagers as homes were invaded, crops burned, and screams echoed into the night.
And then—he returned.
From the mist emerged Naagzilla. Towering, ferocious, his body glowing with venomous energy, Aakash had transformed completely. The war had begun.
War Within and Without
He fought the serpent army alone, wielding powers he barely understood. But the real battle raged inside him—between his human compassion and serpent instincts.
One moment he spared a child’s life, the next he burned a serpent traitor to ashes.
Every decision pushed him closer to one side. Was he still Aakash, or had Naagzilla taken over completely?
The Aftermath and the Legend
By dawn, the seal was restored. The serpents disappeared into shadows, and silence returned to Bhairavpur.
But the villagers had seen what he’d become.
“He is no longer one of us,” they murmured. “He is a beast. A demon.”
Heartbroken, Aakash vanished into the wilderness, leaving behind nothing but a legend.
To this day, when the moon turns blood-red and the wind carries whispers, people say:
“Naagzilla returns with the curse… and the choice.”
