कहानी – राजकुमारी और शापित जंगल
बहुत समय पहले की बात है। “सूर्यनगर” नामक राज्य था, जहाँ की राजकुमारी रतनप्रभा अपनी सुंदरता, बुद्धिमानी और साहस के लिए प्रसिद्ध थी।
राज्य सुखी और समृद्ध था, लेकिन एक समस्या ने सभी की नींद उड़ा दी थी। राज्य की सीमा से लगे काले पर्वत के जंगल को लोग शापित जंगल कहते थे।
कहा जाता था कि वहाँ जाने वाला कभी लौटकर नहीं आता। रात होते ही वहाँ अजीब-अजीब आवाजें आतीं—कभी बच्चों के रोने की, कभी जानवरों की गर्जना की, तो कभी किसी अज्ञात शक्ति की गूँज सुनाई देती।
राजा ने जंगल के रहस्य को जानने के लिए कई वीर योद्धाओं को भेजा, लेकिन वे सभी वापस नहीं आए। धीरे-धीरे जंगल का नाम सुनकर ही लोग डरने लगे।
राजकुमारी का साहस
एक दिन राजकुमारी रतनप्रभा ने दरबार में कहा:
“पिता महाराज, जब हमारे लोग डर में जी रहे हैं, तो मैं चुप नहीं बैठ सकती। मैं इस जंगल का रहस्य उजागर करूँगी।”
राजा ने बेटी को बहुत समझाया, लेकिन राजकुमारी अपने निश्चय से पीछे नहीं हटी।
अपने धनुष-बाण और दिव्य तलवार के साथ वह अकेले घोड़े पर सवार होकर जंगल की ओर निकल पड़ी।
🌲 जंगल का रहस्य
जैसे ही वह जंगल में पहुँची, वातावरण अजीब हो गया। पेड़ आपस में फुसफुसाते से लग रहे थे, और हवा में एक ठंडक थी। अचानक उसके सामने एक बड़ा काला अजगर आ गया।
राजकुमारी ने बिना डरे अपनी तलवार खींची और साहस से मुकाबला किया। अजगर अचानक धुएँ में बदलकर गायब हो गया।
राजकुमारी को समझ आ गया कि यह कोई साधारण जंगल नहीं बल्कि जादुई मायाजाल है।
शापित आत्मा
जंगल के मध्य में उसे एक प्राचीन शिव मंदिर मिला। मंदिर की टूटी मूर्तियों के बीच एक प्रेतात्मा बंधी हुई थी। वह बोली:
“राजकुमारी, मैं इस जंगल का रक्षक था। लेकिन एक दुष्ट तांत्रिक ने मुझे शाप देकर आत्मा में बदल दिया और इस पूरे जंगल को अपने वश में कर लिया। अब वही इस जगह पर शासन करता है।”
राजकुमारी ने साहसपूर्वक पूछा—
“तुम्हें मुक्त करने का उपाय क्या है?”
आत्मा बोली—
“यदि कोई निर्भीक व्यक्ति पूर्ण विश्वास के साथ इस जंगल के हृदय में स्थित ‘मणिकुंड’ से दिव्य रत्न निकालकर भगवान शिव को अर्पित करे, तभी यह शाप टूटेगा।”
तांत्रिक से सामना
राजकुमारी ने जंगल के हृदय तक पहुँचने की ठानी। वहाँ उसने देखा—एक विशाल गुफा, जहाँ दुष्ट तांत्रिक काला यज्ञ कर रहा था। उसके चारों ओर मृत आत्माएँ बंधी हुई थीं।
तांत्रिक हँसते हुए बोला:
“अरे, एक नन्ही राजकुमारी! क्या तुम सोचती हो कि मुझे हरा सकती हो?”
राजकुमारी ने निडर होकर कहा—
“सत्य और धर्म की रक्षा के लिए मैं सबकुछ कर सकती हूँ।”
युद्ध प्रारंभ हुआ। तांत्रिक ने अग्नि, वायु और अंधकार के जादू चलाए, लेकिन राजकुमारी ने अपने साहस और भक्ति के बल पर सबको काट दिया।
अंत में उसने तांत्रिक के त्रिशूल को भेदकर उसका अंत कर दिया।
शाप का अंत
जैसे ही तांत्रिक मरा, जंगल का अंधकार दूर हो गया।
आत्मा प्रकट हुई और राजकुमारी को आशीर्वाद देकर मुक्त हो गई। जंगल हरा-भरा हो गया, पक्षियों की चहचहाहट लौट आई और लोगों का भय समाप्त हो गया।
राजकुमारी रतनप्रभा जब राज्य लौटी तो लोग खुशी से झूम उठे।
राजा ने कहा:
“आज से यह जंगल शापित नहीं, बल्कि ‘वीरांगना वन’ कहलाएगा, क्योंकि मेरी बेटी ने इसे मुक्त किया है।”

It was a long time ago. There was a kingdom called “Suryanagar”, where Princess Ratanprabha was famous for her beauty, intelligence and courage.
The kingdom was happy and prosperous, but one problem had taken everyone’s sleep away. People called the forest of the black mountain bordering the kingdom a cursed forest.
It was said that whoever went there never returned. As soon as night fell, strange sounds were heard there – sometimes the crying of children, sometimes the roaring of animals, and sometimes the echo of some unknown power.
The king sent many brave warriors to know the secret of the forest, but all of them did not return. Gradually, people started getting scared just by hearing the name of the forest.
The Curse
Voices, cries, and strange shadows haunted the forest. The king sent his warriors to uncover the truth, but none returned. Fear spread across the land.
The Princess’s Courage
One day Princess Ratanprabha said in the court:
“Father Maharaj, when our people are living in fear, I cannot sit silent. I will reveal the secret of this forest.”
The king tried to convince his daughter a lot, but the princess did not back down from her decision.
Armed with her bow and arrow and divine sword, she rode alone towards the forest on horseback.
The Secret of the Forest
As soon as she reached the forest, the atmosphere became strange. The trees seemed to whisper to each other, and there was a coolness in the air. Suddenly, a huge black dragon appeared in front of her.
Without fear, the princess drew her sword and fought bravely. The dragon suddenly turned into smoke and disappeared.
The princess understood that this was no ordinary forest but a magical illusion.
The Cursed Spirit
In the middle of the forest, she found an ancient Shiva temple. A ghost was tied up among the broken idols of the temple. It said:
“Princess, I was the protector of this forest. But an evil tantrik cursed me and turned me into a spirit and took control of this entire forest. Now he rules this place.”
The princess boldly asked—
“What is the way to free you?”
The spirit said—
“If a fearless person with full faith takes out the divine gem from ‘Manikund’ situated in the heart of this forest and offers it to Lord Shiva, only then this curse will be broken.”
Battle with the Sorcerer
The princess decided to reach the heart of the forest. There she saw—a huge cave, where the evil Tantrik was performing a black yagya. Dead souls were tied around him.
The Tantrik laughed and said:
“Hey, a little princess! Do you think you can defeat me?”
The princess fearlessly said—
“I can do anything to protect truth and religion.”
The battle began. The Tantrik used magic of fire, air and darkness, but the princess cut them all with the power of her courage and devotion.
Finally she pierced the Tantrik’s trident and ended his life.
The Curse Breaks
As soon as the Tantrik died, the darkness of the forest disappeared.
The spirit appeared and blessed the princess and was freed. The forest became green, the chirping of birds returned and the fear of the people ended.
When Princess Ratnaprabha returned to the kingdom, the people rejoiced.
The king said:
“From today this forest will not be cursed, but will be called ‘Veerangana Van’, because my daughter has freed it.”
Moral of story
- Courage is not the absence of fear but the will to face it.
- Evil cannot last long before truth and righteousness.
- Faith, devotion, and bravery can break any curse.
