वाराणसी नगरी में रामनारायण नाम का एक मोची रहता था। उनके अंदर बहुत दया थी। दूसरों की मदद के लिए हमेशा तैयार रहता था । अगर कोई उसके पास मदद के लिए आता, तो वो हर संभव मदद करता था ।
एक दिन मोची रामनारायण रोज की तरह अपनी दुकान में जूते लेकर बैठा था। एक ब्राह्मण ने उसे अपना जूता ठीक करने के लिए दिया।
जैसे ही उसने जूते में आखिरी सिलाई की। रामनारायण ने ब्राह्मण से पूछा, “तुम कहाँ से हो?”
ब्राह्मण देव ने कहा, “मैं कावेरी के तट से माँ गंगा के दर्शन करने और उनके जल में स्नान करने आया हूँ।”
मोची रामनारायण ने एकाएक पूछा, “क्यों? कावेरी नदी सूख गई है क्या?”
ब्राह्मण के लिए यह आश्चर्य की बात थी। उन्होंने रामनारायण से कहा, “मैं विश्वास नहीं कर सकता कि आप गंगा पर रहते हैं और इस तरह की बातें करते हैं। क्या आप नहीं जानते कि गंगा माँ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण हैं? क्या आप कभी नहाने और प्रार्थना करने नहीं गए?”
रामनारायण ने उत्तर दिया, “मैं नहीं जानता कि यह कितना महत्वपूर्ण है, और मैंने वहाँ कभी स्नान नहीं किया है, इसलिए मैं नहीं कह सकता।”
इससे पहले कि रामनारायण कुछ और कहते, ब्राह्मण देव ने कहा, “गंगा के किनारे रहने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति कुछ नहीं जानता, गंगा की शक्ति भी नहीं। इसलिए तुम सब फटे हो। उसके बाद, ब्राह्मण ने बताया रामनारायण को बताया की माँ गंगा कितनी महान थीं।
ब्राह्मण की बात सुनने के बाद रामनारायण ने कहा, “यदि आपका मन साफ है, तो हर तट पर पानी गंगा है।”

ब्राह्मण के ऐसा कहने पर रामनारायण ने जल्दी से जूता सिल दिया और उससे कहा, “तुम्हारा जूता ठीक हो गया है। क्या आप अब गंगा नदी पर जाकर मेरा एक काम करोगे?”
“ज़रूर, बताओ क्या करना है,” ब्राह्मण देव ने कहा।
रामनारायण ने अपनी जेब से एक पूरी सुपारी निकाली और उससे कहा, “जब आप गंगा स्नान करो तो यह पूरी सुपारी दे देना।”
ब्राह्मण देव रामनारायण के हाथ से सुपारी लेकर गंगा की ओर चलने लगे।
वहाँ स्नान करने के बाद, ब्राह्मण देव ने गंगा माँ को एक सुपारी दी और कहा, “माँ, रामनारायण ने आपके लिए यही भेजा है। कृपया इसे ले लें।”
ब्राह्मण देव ने तब पूरी सुपारी गंगा में फेंक दी। थोड़ी ही देर में एक हाथ गंगा में बहते हुए आया और ब्राह्मण के पास रुक गया। उस हाथ में सोने का कड़ा था।
उसी समय एक आवाज आई जिसने कहा, “यह कंगन तरफ़ से रामनारायण को दे दो।”
ब्राह्मण यह देखकर चौंक गया कि गंगा माता ने रामनारायण को सोने का कड़ा भेजा है। हैरान ब्राह्मण ने हाथ में कंगन पकड़ लिया। कंगन पर हाथ लगते ही ब्राह्मण लोभी हो गया। उसने सोचा कि मैं रामनारायण को यह कंगन नहीं दूंगा। रामनारायण को कैसे पता चलेगा कि माँ गंगा ने उसे कंगन देने के लिए कहा था? इसी विचार को मन में रखकर ब्राह्मण आगे बढ़ा।

थोड़ी देर बाद उन्हें अहसास हुआ कि अगर उन्होंने यह ब्रेसलेट बेचा तो इसकी जांच होगी और मुझ पर चोरी का आरोप लगाया जा सकता है। मैं यह कंगन तुरंत राजा को देता हूं। वह खुश होंगे और बदले में मुझे कुछ देंगे।
इस विचार के साथ ब्राह्मण सीधे महल में चला गया। वहाँ पहुँचते ही ब्राह्मण ने राजा को प्रणाम करके उसे एक कंगन दिया।
राजा और वहां मौजूद सभी लोग यह देखकर हैरान रह गए कि वह कंगन कितना चमकीला था। “ब्राह्मण देव,” राजा ने कहा, “इस कंगन को देखो। ऐसा लगता है कि यह स्वर्ग से आया है।”
राजा ने वह कंगन अपनी पत्नी को दे दिया। कंगन डालते ही पत्नी प्रसन्न हो गई। राजा ने तब ब्राह्मण से कहा, “यह एक कंगन है, और मुझे दूसरा जोड़ा और चाहिए।” इस कंगन को दोनों हाथों में पहनने से ही रानी और भी खूबसूरत लगेगी।
जब ब्राह्मण ने यह सुना तो उसके पसीने छूट गए। राजा ने तुरंत पूछा, “क्या हुआ? तुम इतने उदास क्यों हो?” क्या यह कंगन चोरी किया हुआ है?
ब्राह्मण ने तुरंत उत्तर दिया, “नहीं, राजा साहब, यह चोरी का नहीं है।”
तब राजा ने कहा, ठीक है, मेरे लिथे दूसरा कंगन ले आ, और शाम तक मुझे दे देना। तभी मैं मानूंगा कि यह चोरी नहीं हुआ था।
राजा के दरबार से निकलते हुए डरे हुए ब्राह्मण ने कहा, “जी राजा साहब”। कंगन की सच्चाई का पता लगाने के लिए राजा ने अपने कुछ सैनिकों को ब्राह्मण के पीछे लगा दिया।

ब्राह्मण जब महल से निकला तो सीधा रामनारायण के पास गया। उसने रामनारायण को गंगा माँ द्वारा दिए गए कंगन के बारे में बताया, कैसे उसका मन लालच से भर गया था, और राजा ने क्या माँगा था। फिर उसने रामनारायण से पूछा कि उसे दूसरा कड़ा कैसे मिल सकता है।
ब्राह्मण की सारी बात सुनकर रामनारायण ने अपनी दोनों आंखें बंद कर लीं। फिर, रामनारायण ने अपने हाथ जोड़े और गंगा माँ से ब्राह्मण को बचाने के लिए कहा। एक मिनट बाद रामनारायण ने सामने रखी बाल्टी में हाथ डाला और पहले जैसा दिखने वाला कड़ा निकाला।
ब्राह्मण के लिए यह आश्चर्य की बात थी। जो सैनिक राजा के पीछे चल रहे थे वे भी इस चमत्कार से चकित थे। यह सब देखकर वह सीधे राजा के पास गया और सब कुछ कह सुनाया।
ब्राह्मण रामनारायण से कंगन लेकर और उसका धन्यवाद करके महल से चला गया। राजा के वहाँ पहुँचते ही ब्राह्मण ने वह कंगन राजा को दे दिया। राजा ने उससे कुछ नहीं पूछा, उसने बिना कुछ कहे बस कंगन ले लिया।
कंगन लेने के बाद, राजा अपने सैनिकों के साथ रामनारायण की दुकान पर माँ गंगा की भक्ति के लिए धन्यवाद देने गए।
कहानी से सीख
सिर्फ शेखी बघारने से मनुष्य कुछ हासिल नहीं कर सकता। भक्ति, मान-सम्मान सब दिल से होना चाहिए।

There lived a cobbler named Ramnarayan in the city of Varanasi. He had a lot of kindness in him. Was always ready to help others. If someone came to him for help, he would help in every possible way.
One day cobbler Ramnarayan was sitting in his shop carrying shoes as usual. A Brahmin gave him his shoe to mend.
As he sews the last stitch in the shoe. Ramnarayan asked the Brahmin, “Where are you from?”
The Brahmin Dev said, “I have come from the banks of Kaveri to see Mother Ganga and bathe in her water.”
The cobbler Ramnarayan suddenly asked, “Why? Has the Kaveri river dried up?”
This was a matter of surprise for the Brahmin. He said to Ramnarayan, “I cannot believe that you live on the Ganges and talk like this. Don’t you know that mother Ganges is very important? Have you never gone to bathe and pray?”
Ramnarayan replied, “I do not know how important it is, and I have never bathed there, so I cannot say.”
Before Ramnarayan could say anything else, the Brahmin Dev said, “No one who lives on the banks of the Ganges knows anything, not even the power of the Ganges. That’s why you are all torn.” She was so great.
After listening to the Brahmin, Ramnarayan said, “If your mind is clear, then the water on every bank is the Ganges.”
On saying this to the Brahmin, Ramnarayan quickly stitched the shoe and said to him, “Your shoe is fixed. Will you now go to the river Ganges and do a favor for me?”
“Sure, tell me what to do,” said the Brahmin god.
राजा और तोता कहानी | King and Parrot Story
Ramnarayan took out a whole betel nut from his pocket and said to him, “Give me this whole betel nut when you bathe in the Ganges.”
The Brahmins started walking towards the Ganges by taking betel nuts from the hand of Dev Ramnarayan.
After bathing there, the Brahmin Dev gave a betel leaf to Mother Ganga and said, “Mother, this is what Ramnarayan has sent for you. Please take it.”
The Brahmin Dev then threw the whole betel nut into the Ganges. In a short while a hand came flowing in the Ganges and stopped near the Brahmin. There was a gold bangle in that hand.
At the same time a voice came which said, “Give this bracelet to Ramnarayan.”
The Brahmin was shocked to see that Ganga Mata had sent a gold bangle to Ramnarayan. Surprised Brahmin caught the bracelet in his hand. The Brahmin became greedy as soon as he touched the bracelet. He thought that I will not give this bracelet to Ramnarayan. How would Ramnarayan know that Maa Ganga had asked him to give the bracelet? Keeping this thought in mind, the Brahmin moved forward.
After a while he realized that if he sold this bracelet, it would be investigated and I could be accused of theft. I immediately give this bracelet to the king. He will be happy and give me something in return.
With this thought the Brahmin went straight to the palace. As soon as he reached there, the Brahmin bowed down to the king and gave him a bracelet.
The king and all the people present there were amazed to see how bright the bracelet was. “Brahmin Dev,” said the king, “look at this bracelet. It seems to have come from heaven.”
The king gave that bracelet to his wife. The wife became happy as soon as she put on the bracelet. The king then said to the Brahmin, “This is one bracelet, and I want another pair.” Wearing this bracelet in both the hands will make the queen look more beautiful.
When the Brahmin heard this, he broke out in a sweat. The king immediately asked, “What happened? Why are you so sad?” Is this bracelet stolen?
The Brahmin immediately replied, “No, Raja Saheb, it is not stolen.”
Then the king said, okay, bring me another bracelet, and give it to me by evening. Only then would I agree that it was not stolen.
Coming out of the king’s court, the scared Brahmin said, “Jee Raja Saheb”. To find out the truth of the bracelet, the king sent some of his soldiers after the Brahmin.
When the Brahmin came out of the palace, he went straight to Ramnarayan. He told Ramnarayan about the bracelet given by Ganga Maa, how his heart was filled with greed, and what the king had asked for. Then he asked Ramnarayan how he could get another bracelet.
Ramnarayan closed both his eyes after listening to the Brahmin’s words. Then, Ramnarayan folded his hands and asked Ganga Maa to save the Brahmin. After a minute, Ramnarayan put his hand in the bucket kept in front of him and took out the bangle which looked the same as before.
This was a matter of surprise for the Brahmin. The soldiers who were following the king were also amazed by this miracle. Seeing all this, he went straight to the king and told everything.
The Brahmin left the palace after taking the bracelet from Ramnarayan and thanking him. As soon as the king reached there, the Brahmin gave that bracelet to the king. The king didn’t ask her anything, he just took the bracelet without saying anything.
After taking the bracelet, the king along with his soldiers went to Ramnarayan’s shop to thank him for his devotion to Mother Ganga.
Moral of story
Man cannot achieve anything just by boasting. Devotion, respect should all be from the heart.
